Learning to Love the Rain

Sometimes it worries me just how much my moods seem to follow the weather, but I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in this.

In first year, our singing tutor [those of you who know me, yes, singing lessons, yes, you can laugh] taught us about trying to have a more "open" face, as in, not screwing it up (it makes a brighter sound - let's your resonating cavities in your face do their job better [woohoo - clever technical sounding bit])
He questioned why people screw up their faces when they're walking down the street in the rain and wind - I mean, really, what's that gonna gain them? And wouldn't we all feel better and the world seem a bit friendlier if we smiled a bit more?

I often challenge myself on this if I'm walking somewhere in the rain - but it's not easy...

Whereas when it's sunny, well, those are the days - I can conquer the world when the sun is shining!

That feeling though, the genuine spring-in-your-step feeling is too good to save for sunny days, I've decided.
And so I want to learn to love the rain.

Also, I'm going to Nepal during the monsoon season this summer...
